Loretta M. Baird Barnes-Hayward (nee: Grau), Age 82 of Chardon, died June 18, at Emeritus of Mentor. Born May 6, 1932 in Willoughby, to the late Frank and Florence (nee: Dempsey) Grau, she lived in Chardon all of her life. For more than 25 years, she was a Bus Driver for the Chardon School District, retiring in 1995. Loretta was very active in TOPS, she enjoyed camping, roller skating, bowling and going to the Chardon Concerts on the Square. She was a lifelong member of the Chardon United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and played the piano.

Loretta is survived by her children Bruce (Claire) Baird of Chardon, Don (Kathy) Baird of Chardon, Bonnie (Blair) Likins of Newbury Twp., and Ron Kahler of Chardon. 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Denis (Lillian) Grau of Chardon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North Street, Chardon, Monday, June 23 from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 PM. The funeral will follow at 7:00 PM at the church.

Private family burial will be held at Chardon Municipal Cemetery. Burr Funeral Home, Chardon handling the arrangements. Donations are requested to Chardon United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Claire Avenue, Cleveland, 44110.
