James W. Lindley, 57, died unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 11, at his home in Marietta Twp. of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Lindley had farmed with his brothers and also drove a truck for Sanitary Creamery Co. for about 20 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Germany. He was a member of the last horse Cavalry used by the U.S. Army.
Son of Ernest and Marie Lindley, he was born at Ithaca June 28, 1925.
Surviving are a brother Jess; three sisers, Mrs. Doris Miller and Mrs. Lloyd (Ardith) Lindelien, both of Boscobel, and Mrs. Harold (Lillie) Lewis of Edgerton.
His parents and a brother Gene preceeded him in death.
Services were held Monday at the Beeman Funeral Home, with Pastor Paul Andersen officiating. Casket bearers were Richard Lewis, Gene Lewis, Gary Lindelien, Harry Heisz, Chuck Miller, and Bill Rotramel. Members of the Boscobel American Legion and VFW posts conducted military rites at the Boscobel Cemetery, where interment was made.
