Foerg, Roger J.

Roger J. Foerg, age 87 went peacefully to heaven on July 10, 2014 after struggling with dementia and its complications. He was residing at Superior Residence of Clermont, Memory Care.

Roger was born November 7, 1926 to Jacob W. and Mary Horner Foerg in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He served in the Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 55, Clermont, Florida. Roger moved to Clermont, Florida in 1981 when he opened a full-service gas station and repair shop at the corner of Fifth St. and Hwy. 50.

Roger loved life and never met a stranger. He enjoyed attending church service at Family Christian and First Baptist Church of Clermont. He is preceded in death by his first wife Constance Foerg and his second wife, Barbara Peterson Foerg; his son Thomas Foerg; brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Laverne Foerg; sisters and brothers-in-law Gladys and Walter Doctor, Shirley and William Simmer; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Ervin Delsman, Bernard and Dorothy Peterson, Pat and Dorothy Peterson; sister-in-law Sue Peterson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law John and Vicki Foerg; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Wayne Cockcroft; daughter-in-law Karen Foerg; grandchildren, Bryant Cockcroft, Kristen and Eric Lamoreaux (Caydence and Lydia), Laurel and Kyle Krueger; sister and brother-in-law MaryAnn and Ronald Szymczk; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Paul and Rosemary Peterson, John and Judy Peterson, Owen Peterson and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held in Clermont on Saturday, July 19th, 2014. There will be an inurnment on July 28, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Those attending should meet at Sexton House off of 18th Street in Manitowoc at 10:45 for the procession to the site. A luncheon will follow at American Legion, Manitowoc.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Cornerstone Hospice of Lake/Sumter Counties. Cremation Services provided by Becker Funeral Home, Clermont, Florida.
