John C. Fisher, age 72, died at his home Tuesday morning of organic heart trouble. He had been in ill health for the past year but was able to be about until six weeks ago when his condition became more serious and he was confined to his home.
The deceased was born January 3, 1858, near Buchanan, but he came to this village at an early age, where he has since resided.
Surviving him are his widow and five children, Mrs. Frank E. Lee, Mrs. Carl R. Schmidt, Edward L. Fisher and Mrs. John Hoven of this village and Mrs. G. Douglas Ford of South Bend, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Leon Manning officiating. Burial was at Forest Lawn cemetery. “ From The Galien River Gazette, October 23, 1930, page 1
