Son of William Sr and Agnes ANDERSON, he served in Civil War, Union, 7th Corporaal, Enlisted in Company B, West Virginia 1st Infantry Regiment on 30 May 1861. Mustered out on 27 Aug 1861 at Wheeling, WV. Promoted to Sergeant, Company K, March 1862, Killed in battle, Shenandoah Valley Campaign.
