Betty L. Adams, 91, of Topeka, died on Friday, June 27, 2014.
Betty was born on Dec. 31, 1922, in Jennings, KS. to Allyan and Dottie Mae (Conley) Beers. Her early years of schooling were in a one-room school house until she attended and graduated from Kanona High School.
She was married to E. George Adams in 1942, in Denver. They later moved to Wichita and finally settled in Topeka to raise their family. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Betty worked in Topeka for many years for Capital Federal Savings Bank as an internal auditor and retired in 1987. She loved to ride horses and take trips with her family in the old Packard, riding in the rumble seat. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Betty is survived by her son, Richard Adams, of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a daughter, Jeannie Davis, a brother, Doyle Beers and a sister, Bonnie Morrissette.
Betty's wishes were to be cremated and the burial of her remains will take place at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family.
