Resident of Two Rivers for last 18 Years, dies Following One Week's Illness Anton Sobiech Sr., 86, who came to Manitowoc County 43 years ago from Poland, his birthplace, died at 12:15 p.m. Today at his home, 2022 Monroe Street, of bronchial pneumonia after an illness of one week.
Mr. Sobiech was a resident of Two Rivers for the last 18 years and up to six years ago he was employed by the Hamilton Manufacturing company. He was born May 28, 1849 in Poland, and at the age of 23 he served in the German army. He came to the United States 43 years ago and made his home in Manitowoc. Thirty-eight years ago he married Miss Anna Nuna of Manitowoc. For ten years prior to moving to Two Rivers the family resided on a farm near Pulaski, Wis. The survivors are his widow; five children, Julius, Edmund and Anton Jr., of Two Rivers, Harry at home and Mrs. Leo Hart of Green Bay, and a foster son, Myron Rosinsky; one brother, Xavier, Manitowoc; and 11 grandchildren.
Mr. Sobiech was a member of the Holy Name society of Sacred Heart church.
The body will be removed to the residence from the Beduhn and Goetz funeral home Friday. The rosary will be prayed at the residence Saturday at 7 p.m. The funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the residence and at 9 o'clock at Sacred Heart church. Rev. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
