Don served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He served twenty years including during the war in Korea, where his division in the Marines was with demolition and he was a tractor operator. He learned to speak Korean while he was there and used it occasionally all his life.

Luce, Donald L. "Don" Age 82, of Savage, MN passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea. He graduated from Southwest High school in 1949, attended Heald Engineering College in San Francisco and received a B.S.C.E. diploma in Civil Engineering. Later owned and operated Lakeville Cabinet Supply. Preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Kenneth Luce; first wife, Marianne; and daughter, Patricia Lu Maye. Survived by loving wife, Lucy Luce; brothers, John (Jacquie) Luce and Gregory (Dianne) Luce; one son, three daughters, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and loyal friends. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, July 21 at 11AM. Visitation at 10 AM. Both will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4625 W 125th St, Savage. Interment with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery following service and lunch. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mayo Clinic Kidney Transplant.
