Bryce McRee Killian, 81, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Catawba Regional Hospice. Bryce was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Catawba County, to the late Gordon Mack Lee and Lottie Marie Shook Killian. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryon McLee Killian; a sister, Jolene Clontz VanHorn; and a brother, Ray Eugene Killian Sr. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church and retired from Hickory Chair. Surviving are his wife, Nethetta "Suzy" Pennell Killian, of the home; daughter, Nethetta Dawn Propst and husband, Paul, of Lenoir; granddaughter, Chelsie Simone Propst and fianc‚, Jordan M. Roddy, of Madison, Wis.; sisters, Louise Killian Huffman, of Hickory and Donna Kay Killian Bowman and husband, Gary, of Hickory; eight nephews; four nieces; and a great number of great-nieces and nephews. Services will be Monday, July 14, at 2 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kenny Robison and Charlie Sisti officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hickory Funeral Home.
