ALICE I. WIESE

Alice I. Wiese, age 86, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Home, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, Aug. 12, 2004 at the home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William O'Brien with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Alice was born June 18, 1918 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late William and Caroline (Leiterman) Sprang. On May 24, 1939, she married John P. Wiese at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Alice was a homemaker who devoted her time to her family. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining family and friends, making quilts and playing bingo at Shady Lane. After her husband's retirement, she and John became avid gardeners who enjoyed selling their produce at the local farmer's markets. After John's death in 1995, Alice spent her time helping others and spending time with her family and lady friends until she suffered a debilitating stroke. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Sharon and Dale Braun, Two Rivers; Pamela and Bruce Suster, Denmark; Patricia and Jeffrey Fidler, Two Rivers; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold Sprang and his special friend, Olive, Two Rivers; Harvey and Mildred Sprang, Two Rivers; one sister and brother-in-law: Olive and Elroy Draheim, Mishicot; eight grandchildren: Patty (Mark) Emond, Montello; Johnnie (Jill) LeClair, Two Rivers; Tracy LeClair and her fiance, Daniel Kaster, Maribel; Lori (Dan) Eallonardo, Yorkville, Ill.; Scott (Becky) Braun, Manitowoc; Kristopher Suster and Zachary Suster, Denmark; Jeffrey (Robyn) Fidler, Francis Creek; 13 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Alice was preceded in death by her husband: John; and one daughter: Shirley LeClair.

The family will greet relatives and friends Monday morning, Aug. 16, 2004 at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer Site, Two Rivers, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. The Klein and Stangel Funeral Home and Cremation Care Center, Two Rivers, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Alice's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Shady Lane Nursing Home for the special kindness and compassion Alice received while in their care.
