Paul was the son of Ransom Barr and Freda Babcock. His maternal grandparents were Alfred Babcock and Chloe Hake. He married DeeAnn Beeson.

"Paul Ransom Barr age 80, of Hollywood, Fla., passed away Aug. 30, 2011 in Melbourne, Fla., due to multiple melanoma cancer. He was a graduate of McKinley High School in 1948 and The Ohio State University in 1952. Paul was a Professional Agriculture Engineer in Southern Florida for over 50 years. An irrigation specialist, Paul designed and installed what is to believed the first automatic irrigation system in Ohio when the Barr Family farm on 39th St NE was converted to Meadowlake Golf Course in 1962. Paul wishes were to be cremated.

He was married 54 years to DeeAnn Beeson Barr, who passed away on Jan. 5, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom and Freda Barr and sister, Florence E. Barr. He is survived by his sons, Shawn (Debora) Barr, Palm Bay, Fla., and Scott (Melanie) Barr, Winter Haven, Fla; three grandchildren, Jared, Dylan and Kelsey; two sisters, Lois (Barr) Cook of Dayton, Ohio and Josephine (John) Altstetter of Dearborn, Mich., and brother, Roy (Carol) Barr of Canton, Ohio; many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Paul's son Shawn and daughter-in-law, Debora Barr (and son Jared) of Palm Bay, Fla., for their love and care given to Paul during his last year on earth and also thanks to Hospice of Melbourne, Fla. Rest in peace, Paul. You may be gone but will never be forgotten. By: Roy Barr and Family."
