Last Rites Held For Hartwig Petersen
Funeral services for Hartwig F. Petersen, 93, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Berthusen Funeral Home in Avoca with the Rev. Joseph Gerit of the Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Avoca cemetery.
Mr. Petersen died last Thursday in a Harlan hospital. He was born in Germany and lived in Avoca 65 years.
Survivors include: his widow, Christine; five sons, John, Chris and Harry, all of Avoca, Walter of Butte, Mont., and Max of Billings, Mont.; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Schnepel of Minden; 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
