Cherished father of Lloyd (Virginia) Slaughter and Leigh (Ken) Griffin. Dear grandfather of Andrew, Rebecca, Sarah and Emma Griffin, Ron Klein, Christine Young and Mary Klein. Great grandfather of Melanie, Andrew, Rievley and Campbell. Dear brother of B. B. (Carol) Slaughter, D.O. and the late Henry L. (Mary Lou) Slaughter. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend to many. E. L. was a graduate of A. T. Still University (formerly Kirksville Osteopathic College) and Truman State University. He was on staff at Normandy Osteopathic and Des Pres Hospital. He was past president of Missouri Orthopedic Assoc., and was awarded the Distinguished Service Physicians Award presented by the state of Missouri, was a fellow American College of Osteopathic Physicians International, Dorsett Village Baptist Church (where he served in many capacities) and a former member of the First Baptist Church of St. John and Edmondson Rd. Baptist Church.
Services: Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2009 10 A.M. at Dorsett Village Baptist Church, 2240 Bennington Pl., Maryland Heights, MO 63043. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery (Marceline, MO). Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge at I-170 from 3:30 - 7:30 P.M.
