MAJOR GEORGE EDWARD GUERIERI, JR., died Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at the age of 52. He is survived by his wife, Atina; four children, George Edward III "Trey", Andrew Morgan, Anna Jewel and Nicholas Anthony; father, George Edward, Sr.; sister, Judy Hobdy; brother, Ron; three nieces, one great niece and numerous family and friends. He graduated from Southaven High School in 1974, received his BBA in Management at Ole Miss in 1978, and served his country for over 20 years. First he served in the MS National Guard and then the Army Reserve, with the last 3 years spent on active duty at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, AR. He received the Army commendation Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and an Air Force Achievement Medal. He was a great asset to his unit in his final mission as a Mobilization Liaison Officer for the 90th Regional Readiness Command. He was a wonderful father, loving husband, son, brother, and a selfless friend who will be sorely missed forever by all whose lives he touched. Service will be Friday, 10 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with interment in North Cleveland Cemetery.
