Mr. Ellsworth Barnard, age 71, of 1523 Jasmine Drive, Manitowoc, died Thursday, April 16, 2001, at Birmingham, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. The Rev. Richard Miller will officiate, with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens.
Ellsworth was born on Oct. 23, 1929, in Kingsford, Mich., son of the late Daniel and Winifred Schabell Barnard. He attended school in Kinfsford (sic). Ellsworth was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from Dec. 11, 1946 until April 19, 1948. On July 11, 1953 he was married to the former Joan E. DeBauche at Green Bay. The couple then moved to Manitowoc. Ellsworth was a machinist for 27 years at Dayco-Eastman in Manitowoc, before retiring in 1995. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Joan of Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law: Loren and Sharon Barnard of Manitowoc; Bruce and Kim Barnard of Brillion, Wi.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Debra and Charles Brindis of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Cindy and Paul Heinz of West Bend; six grandchildren: Melissa Barnard, Chelsie Barnard, Jared Barnard, Eric Bundy, Brittany Heinz, Aaron Heinz; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Clarice and Harvey Miskowicz of Plymouth; Rosalie and Margel VanGilder of Spencer, Ohio. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Loren, and a sister, Lola Briggs.
Relatives and friends may call at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 1:30 p.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the family.
