Born at Rison, on August 11, 1925, she was a daughter of the late George And Mirian Greenlee Smith.
She was reared and educated at Rison, where she attended School. She was a Cosmetologist. She owned and operated Mona Lisa Cottage of Hair Design in Pine Bluff for 20 years before she retired in July, 2001.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, Ark.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers; Bobby SMith and Jessie P. Smith, and a sister; Elva Jean Spadoni.
Survivors include her husband Carl Tanner, of Pine Bluff, a son; Dr. Ronald Tanner, of Arlington , Texas, two daughters; Kay Brodnax of Rison, and Lisa Taliaferro of Pine Bluff, 8 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday Morning, May 27, 2002, at Cypress Memorial Gardens, conducted by Dr. John McClanahan.
Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff had charge of arrangements.
