She was born in Warrensburg, MO, February 7, 1946, the daughter of John William Fosnow, Jr. and Laree Mae (Swisher) Fosnow. On October 9, 1965 at the Harmony Baptist church in rural Benton County, MO she married Gary White who survives of the home.

During her school years, Marilyn attended school in Orrick, Henrietta, Richmond, Knob Noster, Calhoun, Windsor and Lincoln, Missouri. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1964.

Shortly after being married, Gary was drafted into the U. S Army in March 1966. After basic training, they moved to Ozark, Alabama where Marilyn worked in Bill's Dollar Store while Gary was in school at Ft Rucker. In October 1966, Marilyn flew to Anchorage, Alaska to join Gary, who was stationed at Ft Richardson. While in the Army, Marilyn and Gary lived in Ozark, Alabama; Anchorage and Ft Richardson, Alaska and Woodbridge, Virginia.

Marilyn attended Kansas Newman University where she received an Associate's Degree in Nursing in 1982. After passing RN state board tests, she began her work career as a Registered Nurse at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. After an early retirement in June 2004, Marilyn and Gary moved to a small farm they owned near Calhoun, Missouri.

After moving into a new country home, Marilyn enjoyed all of her favorite hobbies, quilting, embroidery, and she established a beautiful yard full of flowers.
