MOOREHEAD, Dorothy Mae age 84 of Dayton, born August 24, 1929, in Winder, Georgia departed this life to be with the LORD, Monday, July 7, 2014. Mrs. Moorehead was married to the late William Moorehead of Dayton. She was a faithful member of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church for many years serving on the usher board before she moved to Louisville, KY. Mrs. Moorehead made a difference in the lives of many people but especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Soloman and Mattie Moon Strickland, and daughter Anita Butler. Her memory is cherished by her children all of Dayton; one daughter Gloria (Sylvester) Ray, and three sons; Carlton Jr. and Michael Butler and DaWayne (Regina) Moorehead, Jr. two sisters; Roberta Hickman and Ethel Strewer, and three granddaughters; Annette (Donovan) Myers, Alisia (James) Dodson both of Dayton and Letia Cooper of Harrisburg, PA, devoted niece; Dyetra Norvell-Bowen. Loving thanks to home care assistant LaFon Bryant; nurses Nathan Herbert and Tracee Blair, Chaplain Pam Gaylor and home care assistant Shuquana Boyd all of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Mt. Enon. Family will receive friends at 10 am, one hour before services. Final disposition will be at Dayton National Cemetery.
