ABNER WILLIAM BARNHART, well-known resident of Hagerstown, died suddenly at his home, 32 Broadway, of a heart attack after an illness of a few hours, aged 74 years. He was born and reared in Cearfoss and was the son of Elder A.B. and Hannah Kuhnes Barnhart, State Line, Pa.

He had been head of the Barnhart Overall Company in Williamsport for 35 years, having retired two years ago. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Men's Bible class. He was an honorary life member of the official board of Antietam Fire Company.

Besides his wife, Molly Doub Barnhart, he is survived by the following: daughters, Mrs. Earl M. Hoffman and Mrs. Irvin M. Wertz, both of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Doris Elise Wertz and William I. Neikirk, students at Duke University; sister, Miss Sudie Barnhart, San Mar; brother, A.Keefer Barnhart, NY city.

Services were held at the A.K. Coffman; interment was in the mausoleum in Rose Hil Cemetery.
