DARTMOUTH — Isabel Joan Crocker died at her residence at Sunrise Assisted Living, Dartmouth, MA, April 21, 2010.

She was born October 8, 1915, in Orleans, MA to Dorothy Crane and William S. Crocker, attended Friends Academy and art school in Boston, worked as an illustrator, author, and painter, residing in South Dartmouth since 1956.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Crocker Wheeler and brother, Colonel William S. Crocker Jr.

Joan was active in the Congregational Church and St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Dartmouth.

She leaves her loving family; nieces, Marion C. Kimball and husband, James of Chattanooga, TN, Louise C. Midwood and husband, David of Byfield, MA, Dorothy C. Furlow and husband, George of Pittsburgh, PA; nephew, David Wheeler and wife, Maureen of Wolfeboro, NH; six great nieces and five great nephews; and four great-great nieces and four great-great nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
