Ruth was born May 9, 1922 in Polar, WI to the late Emil and Anna Labbus Pautz, and has been a lifelong area resident. She was a 1940 graduate of the Kewaunee High School.
Ruth married Emmanuel Holub November 20, 1941 at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Kewaunee. He preceded her in death January 24, 2001. Ruth was employed as a secretary for the Novak Insurance Agency and was a Welcome Wagon Hostess for many years. Ruth was fondly remembered as "grandma 2-2." She was a founding member of the WI Czech's, a member of the Kewaunee Badger 4-H Club, the Homemaker's Club, and the Sewing Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Manny to Czechoslovakia on several occasions, and wintering in Florida. She was an avid cardplayer, enjoyed Polka dancing, and when she was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church she loved singing in the church choir.
She is survived by two daughters: Janet Tess, of Kewaunee, Julie Gruendemann, of Stillwater, MN, two sons and one daughter-in-law: Roger and Debbie Holub, of Green Bay, Andrew Holub, of Garden, MI 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister-in -law and also a niece: Charlotte Holub, of Appleton, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by infant sons: Paul and David Holub, a daughter-in-law: Norma Holub, two sons-in-law: Mark Tess and James Gruendemann.
