Funeral services for June G. Amo, age 89, of 232 Washington Street, Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, June 16, 2014, at St. Mary's Cathedral at 10:00 AM with Rev. Scott Belina officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00PM at Frary Funeral Home on 515 Caroline Street. Mrs. Amo passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse.

June is survived by two daughters, Agnes and her husband, David Lightfoot, of Ogdensburg and Diane and her husband, Dave Bell, of Ogdensburg; a sister-in-law, Inge Conroy of Germany; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She is predeceased by a son, Alan Amo in 1999 and a brother, Paul A. Conroy Jr. in 1967.

June was born on April 18, 1925, in De Peyster, NY, the daughter of Paul Ames and Agnes (Brown) Conroy. She attended De Peyster Schools. June married Robert Allen Amo on July 11, 1945 at the Old St. Mary's Rectory with Rev. Clarence Devan officiating. He predeceased her in 1977. June worked at ACCO Brands in Ogdensburg as a machine operator for 27 years and retired in 1980.

June was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she held the post of Chaplin twice and also was a past President. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star, she belonged to the Paul Conroy Jr. Amvets in Heuvelton which was named after her brother, the Military Order of Cooties Auxiliary in District 5, a member of the Alter and Rosary, and was also involved with the Claxton Hepburn Auxiliary for 25 years.

June loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
