MaeBelle Minnick was born June 6, 1910 near Bellwood, Butler County, Nebraska, to David and Ethel (Rose) Minnick. She attended school in Bellwood and Rising City, and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and Midland Lutheran College at Fremont, Nebraska. She was married to Guy B. Dodendorf on April 15, 1939, at Smith Center, Kansas. After her marriage, they lived in Eugene and Portland, Oregon for seven years, then moved to the Octavia area in 1946. In 1955 they moved to a farm near Linwood and to Fremond in 1978. She moved to Georgia in 1988. She taught schools in Butler and Saunders County, Nebraska. A retired teacher, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Church Circle at Fremont, and the Nebraska Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include a son, Geary Dodendorf of Burr Ridge, Ill; a daughter, Dr. Janice Dodendorf of Rocky Face, Ga; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Erick; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Clara Minnick of Bellwood; a sister, Maude Minnick of Fullerton, California; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, George and Mary Dodendorf of McMinneville, Ore; Virginia Minnick of Clayton, NY and Bessie Duval of Springfield, Ore. Her parents, husband, Guy, who died September 8, 1985; and four brothers, Clifford, Dick, Jim and Frank Minnick preceded her in death.
