Betty Jean Deel of Irving passed away July 6, 2014. She was born on May 23, 1928 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to H. Melvin and Bessie Holman. Betty was an Irving resident since 1942 previously of Lindsay, Oklahoma and Pleasant Grove, Texas. She was a loving mother and the best gram anyone could want. She enjoyed both square and round dancing, painting, playing bridge and bowling in leagues throughout the metroplex. Later in life she enjoyed crocheting, embroidery work and antiquing. She also loved watching All My Children, The Texas Rangers and The Dallas Cowboys. She was a lover of music from Big Band to Blake Shelton. She loved her family most of all. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and survived by daughter Brenda Deel Preston of Irving; grand-daughter Tanya Tennenbaum and husband Daniel of Irving; grandsons Barry Preston and Tyler Preston of Irving; Brother Tommy Holman of Pleasant Grove; great-granddaughters Bella Preston; Lillian Tennenbaum; and Madeline Tennenbaum and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 9, 2014 at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
