Mrs. Bessie "Nanny" Samples, age 90, of Cumming passed away Sunday, April 12, 2009. Mrs. Samples was a charter member of Cumming Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and provided childcare in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Brad Samples; son, Allan Samples; and grandson, Mike Swims.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Mickey Swims of Woodstock, Sandra and Harold Johnson of Roopville, Hilda and Aldon Streetman of Cumming; grandchildren, Phil Watson, Shane and Pam Watson, Mia and Marshall Green, Ali Streetman, Brittney and Chuck Shadburn, Debra Swims; great-grandchildren, Chase and Breanna Swims, Allan and Bradley Watson, Macy and Marla Green, Charlie Shadburn; sister-in-law, Tina Smith of Canton; and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at Cumming Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14, from 5-9 p.m.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
