She received Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Friendship Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Benjamin J. Holmes. She attended the Family Christian Center (Munster, IN). Carolyn was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1972. She attended Indiana University Northwest and received her Associate Degree from Ivy Tech. She was an employee of the Gary Community School Corp. She is survived by her daughter Chaunte' P. St. James; parents, Neal Jr. and Jean Harris; 3 sisters, Patricia (Arnim Sr.) Johnson, Cathy (Theodore), of Gary, IN, Adriane (Bishop) Smith of Indianapolis, IN; 1 brother, Neal III (Varetta) Harris of Milwaukee, WI; nieces, Nakia, Tiara, Nicole, Karyce; nephews, Anthony, Andrew, Arnim II, Andre', Aaron, and LeNeal; great-nieces, Angelica, An'Jana and Trine'uja; great-nephews, Jermaine Jr., Andrew Jr., Aaron Jr.; special aunts, Pamela Rogers and Marie Gilmore; and a host of relatives and friends.
