LAWRENCE RAY TAYLOR, age 77 years, a resident of Mill Creek, departed this life early Tuesday morning, July 15, 2014 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital at Morgantown, WV.

He was born Tuesday, May 11, 1937 at home in Mill Creek, WV, son of the late Kenneth Woodrow and Effie Rae Lambert Currence Taylor.

On December 25, 1957, he was married at the home of (and by) Reverend Kenneth Corley to the former Carolyn Ann Henline, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are one son, Kenneth Edward Taylor and wife Dawn of Petersburg; two daughters, Debra Sue Taylor of Mill Creek and Janet Marie Taylor of Harrisburg, VA; four brothers, Donald Taylor and wife Marie, Delmar Taylor and wife Helen and Ronald Taylor and wife Helen, all of Mill Creek; one foster sister, Millie Weese of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Casey, Alan, Jason, Jessie, Jody and Jennifer; sixteen great grandchildren and his companion of nineteen years, Rosie Scott and her family.

Preceding him in death are four sons, Danny Lee Taylor, Alan Ray Taylor, Sr., Larry Michael Taylor and Emory Dale Taylor; one brother, Roger Taylor; two sisters, Idell Taylor Moore and Thelma Currence; two half brothers, Clayton and Coleman Currence and one granddaughter, Jamie L. Taylor.

He attended the one room school at Mill Creek. He was a Woodsman and a farmer and enjoyed the outdoors and coon hunting. He loved his children and grandchildren and he will be missed by all.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM, Friday. On Saturday, July 19, 2014, Mr. Taylor will be moved to the Mill Creek Memorial Union Mission Church, where friends may call from 1 PM until 2 PM. At 2 PM. Funeral services will be conducted by The Rev. Frank Stanley and The Rev. Tristan Tenney will officiate and interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville, WV.
