Allen graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1950, and was employed with M.P. Moller Pipe Organ for over 40 years. Following the closure of Moller's, Allen and two other associates opened Hagerstown Organ Works. He worked there until his retirement. Allen was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Eagles Club Inc. of Waynesboro and the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378.
He is survived by his second wife, Doris Barnhart; daughter, Cindy S. DeLauter, of Hagerstown, MD; one grandson, MD; one granddaughter; sister, Beverly Sowinski of Allentown, PA; two great-grandsons; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Johnson.
Services will be held at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

HELEN E. BARNHART, 71, of 50 Randolph Ave., died Monday at the Washington County Hosptial. She was born in Alliance, Ohio, the daughter of Clyde E. and Myrtle H. Greenawalt Richardson. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are her husband, Allen E. "Jake" Barnhart; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude G. Johnson, Hagerstown; and Mrs. Beverly A. Sowinski, Pa.; one son, H. Allen Barnhart, Hagerstown; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home.
