CARDINI, Celia T. (Smigiel)
Celia T. (Smigiel) Cardini, 76, of East Hartford, beloved wife of Joseph Cardini, passed from this life on Friday, (July 5, 2002) at the Glastonbury Health Care Center. Celia was born in Middletown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Kraska) Smigiel and had resided in Glastonbury before moving to the East Hartford community 17 years ago.
Celia will be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She had been a longtime communicant of St. Rose Church of East Hartford. Celia had been empoyed for many years as a waitress for the Buckboard Restaurant and later the Colonade Restaurant of Glastonbury. Along with her devoted husband of 55 years, Celia is survived by her two sons. Celia also leaves her two daughters. Celia also leaves her seven grandchildren. She also leaves her sister; and a host of nephews and nieces. Celia was deceased by her three brothers and four sisters.
Relatives and friends may gather Tuesday, July 9, 9:15 a.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, East Hartford, for a procession to St. Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Committal services will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Hopewell Rd., Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of prayers or Masses said in her name, or to St. Rose School, 33 Church St., East Hartford, CT 06108.
