Ora Mae was born April 29, 1925, daughter of the late Herman and Hertha (Matznick) Damm. On May 29, 1947, she married Lyle Valleskey. He preceded her in death May 7, 1995. Ora Mae and Lyle retired from dairy farming in 1973 and moved to their second home in Collins. Ora Mae was active with the Collins Homemakers Club and loved to try many of the new recipes on her family, who found them to be quite delicious. People who had known Ora Mae knew she was an excellent homemaker.
Ora Mae was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Valders. She deeply enjoyed the Quilting Ministry and planned her weekly activity around it. Another Caring Ministry that Ora Mae found very fulfilling was knitting lap robes for the area nursing homes; her smile was broad as she delivered armfuls of the lap robes to the nursing homes. Also, throughout Ora Mae's life, she loved her flower gardens, loved to get her hands dirty, and extended that love by working a number of seasons at Hartman's Greenhouse.
Ora Mae is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Mike and Bonnie Valleskey, Two Rivers; daughter and son-in-law: Pam and Wayne Riha, Manitowoc; grandchildren: Scott (Amy) Valleskey, Manitowoc, Mark (Neddra) Valleskey, North Carolina, Eric (Jenny) Riha, Michigan, Adam (Kristin) Valleskey, Manitowoc; great- grandchildren: Braden and Keegan Riha, Parker and Autumn Valleskey, Joshua Valleskey; and twin step-great-grandsons: Ethan and Evan Riha; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Eileen and Merlin Kruger; sisters-in-law: Judy Valleskey and Gertrude Damm. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lyle; an infant son; her brother: Milton Damm; brother-in-law: Larry Valleskey; and sister-in-law: Ethel Mae Alpert.
