Late Mrs. C. D. Arthur: The following resolutions on the death of Mrs. C. D. Arthur, Martinsburg, were read at the Presbyterian Ladies’ Aid meeting: Whereas, It has pleased our heavenlyFather to take from our midst on whom we loved; we feel that in this sad death a light has gone out whose brightness and helpfulness touches many lives, and brought to the hearts of all who knew her, especially to the members of our Ladies’ Aid Society, one who was kind and generous and ever ready to do what she could. She was a kind and loving neighbor and was ever ready to help in time of trouble. With hearts thrilling with tender memories of the bright spirit now departeto the Master’s work, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased. Resolved that a copy be entered on the minutes of the secretary’s book; a copy be sent to the members of the family, and published in the county papers. (Signed,) Mrs. E. S. Allen, Mrs Lewis Shepard.
