Curtis P. Riebe, age 71, of 605 Cleveland Avenue, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014.

He was born on November 1, 1942 in Manitowoc, son of the late Dell and Sophie (Tadych) Riebe. On August 19, 1967 Curtis married the former Ruth Ann Ahlswede at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2004. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding for 32 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church up until its closing and past member of the Sacred Heart Athletic Club. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed swapping stories with family and friends and a good game of Sheepshead. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he graciously touched in life.

He is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law: Daniel Riebe, Manitowoc, Steven (Tammy) Riebe, Kiel, 3 grandchildren: Alex, Eric and Sara Riebe, Kiel, mother-in-law: Arlene Ahlswede, 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law: Sherrill Riebe, Dell (Maureen) Riebe, Paul (Faye) Riebe, Kenneth Riebe, Larry Riebe, 2 sisters: Sister Francette Riebe, Lynne Karnitz, 2 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Janet (Peter) Larsen, David (Mary) Ahlswede, all of Manitowoc, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Ruth Ann, father-in-law: Herbert Ahlswede, 1 brother: Donald Riebe, sister-in-law: Cecilia Riebe, 2 sisters and brothers-in-law: Joan (Joseph) Kennedy, June (Jack) Boswell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc. Rev. Dave Beaudry will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 25, 2014. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:00 pm led by Sister Francette. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am.
