"James D. "Jim" Sanders, age 69, of White Branch Development near Warsaw, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home. He was born on July 31, 1944, in Springfield, MO., the son of H.M. and Margaret (Fuqua) Sanders.
He grew up in Thayer, Missouri and graduated from high school. He entered the United States Navy and later transferred to the United States Air Force. He served two tours in Vietnam and retired from the service after 20 years of service in 1981.
In 1975, Jim was united in marriage to Karen Wilson in Arizona. His service career took them to many places and they finally settled in Warsaw in 1997.
Jim loved to fish and fly remote airplanes. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and he and Karen had made many trips on their Harley's. He was a member of the American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gary Sanders and one sister, Gale Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home, two sons, Sean Wilson of Lakewood, Colorado and Jason Sanders, of Warsaw, one grandson, Henry Alexander Wilson, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation held July 25, 2014 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO. Cremation followed. Interment in Aurora, Colorado.
Arrangements entrusted to the care of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO."
