JOSEPH BAUMANN

Joseph Baumann Sr., 74, (photo) of Kellnersville, retired farmer died Monday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. He had been a patient at the hospital nine days.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The Rev. Frank Svatek will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Baumann was born at Reifs Mills on March 21, 1879. He married theformer Frances Sperl on July 15, 1902, and the couple settled on the Baumann homestead farm, which they operated until their retirement 16 years ago, when they moved to Kellnersville. The farm is now operated
by a son, Quirin. Mr. Baumann served as treasurer of the Highland School for nine years. He also was a member of the Manitowoc County Sheriff and Deputies
Association, and served as deputy sheriff for 22 years. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary on July 15, 1952.
Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Dan Birkholz of Maribel; three sons, Alvin of Green Bay, Joseph of Denmark and Quirin on the home farm; a brother Michael of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; nine grand-children and six great grand-children.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday and at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday.
