Ray Hamilton, 84, North Union Street, died at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 at the Good Shepherd Home. He was born June 15, 1920 in Crown, Ky. to Andrew and Lucinda (Caudill) Hamilton. He married Vera Mae Frazier on July 26, 1964 in Clintwood, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Mae Hamilton, Fostoria; son, Andrew "Drew" Hamilton, Fostoria; stepdaughter, Georgette Woodson, Xenia; and brother, Riley Hamilton, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter, Elinda Grow, sister, Nora Morrison, brothers, Chester, Kirby, Charley, Jim, Frank, Harvey, Robert and Bill Hamilton.
Mr. Hamilton retired in 1980 from the Chrysler Corp. with 23 years of service. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and recipient of the Purple Heart. Ray enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernie Dickson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. There will be a funeral service on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Letcher Funeral Home, Whitesburg, Ky. with the Rev. D. Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, in Uz, Ky. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
