Sylvia Belle Gruszczynski, age 83, of Skamokawa, Wash., died Monday, March 21, 1993, at a Cathlamet nursing home. Funeral Services were held Friday, March 26, 1993, at Dowling Funeral Home and then at Catherine Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery, Kellnersville.

Sylvia Belle Gruszczysni was born June 30, 1900, to Mansfield and Lilly Mae Sleeth. She spent most of her life in Wisconsin, where she worked as a machinist for 40 years, retiring in 1971. She enjoyed dancing, sewing, and crocheting for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include four daughters, Betty Blomquist, Skamakowa, Wash., Geraldine Wright, Portland, Erma Carr, Ottumwa, Iowa and Imogene Emerson, Portland; two sons, Vernon Stansberry, Naselle, and Edward Stansberry, Portland; one sister, Ellen Reed; 26 grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James in 1977 and a sister and brother. Memorials suggestions include the Cathlamet Fire Department First Aid Division. Sympathy is extended to Betty Blomquist and her brothers and sisters at the death of their mother, Sylvia Gruszczynski.
