A cenotaph for her husband is on her marker. There were reportedly 14 children including two sets of twins. One set of twins is unknown, but would have died in Quebec (City), and are certainly buried there at Chalmers Presbyterian. The other pair are Thomas Maharg May 7, 1853-May 10, 1853 and John Maharg May 7, 1853-May 7, 1853. Six children survived to adulthood, of whom four married Johnston first cousins: William Alexander m Sarah Johnston, Agnes Ann m William "One Arm Bill" Johnston, Elizabeth m James Miller Purvis, and Sarah Jane (b1872) m Thomas James Johnston.
