In 1860 Berrien, GA census she is listed in the home of her son Jeremiah, Jr. According to the photo posted this memorial, on 1 March 1873, a Lydia Baker applied for reimbursement for property taken during the war in 1864. The 2nd page of this posted document states..."Lydia Baker of Liberty Co, GA"...; therefor , it appears the Lydia Baker of this document is not the same as the Lydia baker pf this memorial.

I have not found Lydia of this memorial after 1860 census, and she is not found in 1880 census. It appears she died 1860-1880 in Berrien Co, GA as Tift County was not created until 1909.

According to Sharon Rowan, "Lydia Mariah Baker was buried in the Baker Burying Grounds south of Tifton, GA on the old Union Road. The cemetery has become overtaken by nature, and when we last visited the site, the only remaining headstone was Mariah's. It was broken but readable. I have a photo if anyone's interested.
