Etta Baker, daughter of James and Mary Baker was born February 14, 1888 near Tippecanoe, Ohio, and died at the home of her parents near Gnadenhutten, April 28, 1904, age 16 years, 2 months, and 14 days. She took a cold which later developed into inflammation of the bowel, and soon resulted in death. She was a modest and quiet girl, greatly admired by her teachers and school mates. Always obedient to the wishes of her teacher, and of a studious turn of mind. She leaves to mourn her loss a father, mother, five brothers, two sisters, teacher, schoolmates and friends. Funeral services were conducted April 30, 1904 by Rev. Rice and the remains were laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery at Gnadenhutten. The stricken family have the sympathy of their many neighbors and friends.
