Rocky Abell dies in Carolina

Edward C "Rocky" Abell, age, 37, formerly of Louisville, died Saturday, May 1, in Greensboro, NC of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was president of ABW Lumber Co in Greensboro and a member of the Kiwanis Club, son of Edward C and Elizabeth Geoghegan Abell, formerly of Bardstown. Surviving are his wife, the former Roberta Kettler; a daughter, Kimberly Abell; two sons, Edward C III and Michael Abell; his parents who live in Louisville; five sisters, Mrs Jane Wilson, of Columbus, GA. Mrs Elizabeth Beckham, Mrs Sarah Tyler, Mrs Mary Lee Chandler and Mrs Evelyn McKimie, all of Louisville; three brothers, John Abell of Richmond, Ind; Clifford and Richard Abell of Louisville, and his grandmother, Mrs Marie Abell, Louisville. The funeral was 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ascension Catholic Church, 4600 Lynnbrook Drive, Louisville, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation was at eh Arch L Heady Funeral Home, 4109 Taylorsville Road; Monday evening.
