Barbara Ann Bertram was born July 1, 1949, in Fort Collins to William and Inez Salsbury Bertram.

She graduated from Poudre High in 1967 and received a bachelor's degree in sociology from Colorado State University in 1971.

Barbara married Duane Ross Arnett on May 29, 1970, in Fort Collins.

Mrs. Arnett was a caseworker and Coordinator of Larimer County Foster Care. She was named State Caseworker and National Social Worker of the Year in 1998 by the state and national foster parents associations.

She was a member and Sunday school teacher at First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the International Order of Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Duane Arnett of Fort Collins; one son Micahal Arnett of Fort Collins; one daughter, Kim Arnett of Fort Collins; and one brother, Robert Crump Bertram of Thornton.

Her parents proceded her in death.
