In 1974, she married James "Red" Adams and inherited a job at the Wynnewood Funeral Home She loved her job at the funeral home and felt the Lord had called her to serve there. They worked and lived at the funeral home until the end of 1989 when "Red" had his first stroke. "Red" passed away quietly in December of 1992.
In 1990, the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood at the time asked her to fill in as church secretary while the secretary at the time was on vacation. That was twenty-four years ago and she worked as church secretary until last week when she could no longer. About her job as secretary of the church she said, "I just love it. I only work four days a week, seven hours a day. I work with some of the finest men God ever made and my heart is at peace."
Family preceding her in death include her parents, husband Franklin Delano Dixon, husband James "Red" Adams, and her brother Richard Tarrant.
Survivors include 3 sons and daughters in law - Dale and Kathy Dixon of Ardmore, OK;
Dean and Cindi Dixon of Moore, OK;
Timothy and Annemarie Dixon of Roy, WA;
Brother - Bill Tarrant of Davis, OK;
7 Grandchildren - Jennifer, Leigh, Dustin, Gregory, Michelle, John-Alec, and Faith.
Services will be held on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Wynnewood, OK officiated by Rev. Lynn Phillips and assisted by Rev. Wayne Wall.
