Lemuel O. Boren worked as a Dispatcher for the Manitou Police Department for many years. Bad health forced him to move from his home State of Kentucky to Colorado in the 1940's. Thus he settled in Colorado Springs, CO; with his wife Rosie and children.
My Grandfather Lemuel always had a very distinct Southern "accent" which remained with him for the rest of his life, and also beautiful, light-blue eyes... He was popular for wearing neat old "bolo" ties, and he even grew old KENTUCKY TOBACCO plants in his yard while living in Colorado!! He also kept in his possession an old BOREN FAMILY "apron" dating back from 1776, that he had framed & glassed to preserve it... in which the "apron" still remains within our Family heirlooms.
My Grandfather LEM was a kind & gentle man, and quiet in spirit and temperment....
