Death Takes Fred L. M'Gee

Veteran Fireman of Lancaster Victim of Truck Accident

Funeral Plans

Fred Lewis McGee, aged 67 years,
died at 1 o'clock on Friday after-
noon at the Clinton hospital as the
result of injuries received when a
Lancaster fire truck overturned at
Harvard and Seven Bridge roads
that afternoon.
He was a veteran firemen, hav-
ing served 53 years in the depart-
ment, 20 years as captain.
He as born in Royalton, Vt.,
April 25, 1861, and came to Lanc-
aster as a young man and had
worked as a gardener on various
estates, his last place of employ-
ment being on the estate of Miss
Mary W. Bartol.
In 1889 he married Maria Cun-
ningham, who died three years ago.
His survivors are five children,
Mrs. Harold McNulty of Nashua,
Mrs. Fred Jarvis of North Lancas-
ter, Mrs George King of South
Lancaster, Mrs. Edward Jeffrey of
Clinton and George D. McGee of
Lancaster, also a sister, Mrs.
Charles Dickens of Dover, a
brother George of Dubuque, Ia.,
and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will take place on
Tuesday morning from the home
on Packard street followed by a
high mass of Requiem in the
Church of the Immaculate Concep-
tion. Internment will be in St. John's
cemetery in charge of Martin Mur-
phy & Co., undertakers.
