Lillie Tufford McIver was Donald's step-mother. His biological mother was Lucy Blaylock of North Carolina.

D. J. McIver dies at 91; rites Sunday
POPLARVILLE - Donald J. McIver died at 3:40 a.m. Friday at Pearl River County Hospital where he had been a patient for the past week.

Mr. McIver, who was 91 years old, was a native of North Carolina. He was the grocery store manager for C. Q. Hartzog in the Savannah community, southeast of Poplarville, for a number of years.

Since his retirement, Mr. McIver had been living in the Progress community near Poplarville.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amanda McRaney McIver; three daughters, Mrs. Charles Ray Rester and Mrs. Harold Pritchard of Progress community and Mrs. E. E. Bond of Wewahitchka, FL; one son, John McIver of Houston, TX; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Cuevas of Rt. 1, Pass Christian, Mrs. Flora Bynum of Prentiss and Mrs. Ludie Messer of Sumrall; three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hickory Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Jesse Broadus will officiate. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemeter.

The body will be at Jenkins Funeral Home until time for services.
