JoAnn Esther (Sanford) Ross, 73 of Rochester, NY and formerly of Hornell,NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lyman K, Ross, parents, Harley & Kay Sanford, brothers: James Marvin of Calif., & Harley B. Sanford of Ohio; a sister, Kay Marie,; grandson, Jesse Ross and a great-grandson, Josish Morales.
She is survived by her loving children, Kenneth, Richard (Patty) Ross, Elizabeth Ross, Dean (Linda) Ross, & Sean Ross all of Rochetser,NY. Sisters, Betty Cunningham of Lenexa, Kansas, Frani Holley of Wayland, NY, Judy (Francis) Guidara, of Altoona, Pa. & Deborah (Douglas) Edmond of Nunda, NY. Also, brothers: Robert (Betty) Sanford , Phillip (Elosie) Sanford, and Roy Sanford, all of Hornell,NY. One Aunt, Jean Sanford of Wayland, NY & many cousins, nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.; dear friends, Thressa Baker and Marjorie Kazmark; and a companion, Tippy.
JoAnn was a wonderful Mother not only to her own five children but also her six younger siblngs and many friends and family that always felt welcomed and loved by her.
She married her high school sweetheart, Lyman K. Ross; they were married 54 years and separated only by his passing on Jan. 14, 2009. They are together again in eternity and are sorely missed.
A private Memorial service and internment will be held at the Rural Cemetery in Hornell,N.Y. on Saturday , Aug. 2.
