Kirk was born to Sarah Carnes and Nathaniel Hawkins on the 31st of December 1891. Kirk grew up as a young man in the town of Winston, Georgia. Kirk served his country during WWI along with his brothers William and Leonard Hawkins, nephew Thad Holloman and cousin Early Poole, all served overseas. Head Stone was provided through the efforts of great nephew Gregory Dansby, who contacted the Veterans Administration and completed the necessary paper work to get his military head stone. Kirk passed away on the 1st of September 1949,58 years old.
