Born 1922 (circa according to 1930 and 1940 US Census Record American Legion Children's Home, Cross, Kay County, OK) in Tulsa, Tulsa County, OK to Edna Louisa (Surrell) and Leroy B. Masters. Due to Leroy's illness with diabetes,and the death of their daughter Lois C. Masters FaG # 39553850, Edna placed her four children; Jewell, Jessie, Paul and Porter Masters in the American Legion Children's home located in Cross (now Ponca City), Kay County, OK, USA. Porter graduated from high school and attended one year of college before enlisting in the Army Air Corps listed as William P. Masters Mar 19, 1942 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA. Porter was a pilot in WWII and died in a crash in the Atlantic Ocean.
