GIRL RUN DOWN BY TRUCK HERE DIES

Agnes Tomaszewski, 7 years old of 2001 South Morris Street, South Bend, IN, suffered a fractured skull Wednesday afternoon when struck by a truck while an route to the Oliver school, died Friday night at 10:45pm in St. Joseph Hospital. The accident is said to have occurred near the intersection of Morris St. and Prairie Ave., as the child stepped from behind a parked car into the path of the truck. Agnes was taken to the hospital by the driver of the vehicle, John Williams, but was released the following day when an examination failed to reveal serious injuries.

Friday night about 6 o'clock Agnes suffered a relapse, suddenly losing consciousness, and was rushed to the hospital where death ensued about four hours later.

The little girl, who was a pupil in the 2B grade at Oliver school, was born in this city Jan 10, 1923. Her birth mother Amelia (Amilia) preceded her in death on June 2, 1926. She is survived by her parents Angela (step mother) and father Frank Tomaszewski, five brothers: Walter P, Frank Jr., John, step brothers Joseph and Stanley, and one sister, Elizabeth (Betty), all at home.
Funeral services will be conducted in St. Casimir's Roman Catholic Church Monday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. S. J. Gorka, C.S.C., pastor. Burial will be made in St. Joseph's Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
