Lourdes Christine Flores was received by our Lord with all his loving grace on February 8th, 2006. She is survived by her loving family: husband Michael; son Michael Vincent; and daughters Mira and Mia; parents Raymond and Esperanza Zaragoza; brother Raymond Jr.; sisters Mary, Liz and Estelle; grandmother Maria Zaragoza; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Lou was born on September 3rd, 1964 in Fairfield, Iowa. She completed her high school education in Mexico City. She and her family later moved to Brownsville. She later moved to San Antonio and blossomed with new friends and a new career. She became actively involved with the San Antonio Apartment Assoc. as a volunteer education instructor. She taught weekly CCD class at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. Lou actively participated with the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Assoc. She served as board member. She also served as a board member to the local chapter of the Families with Children from China. She loved to travel with her husband and children to local towns and enjoy the simple joys of life. Her passion was to cook and create meals not just for the body but for the soul. Her love of life warmed the hearts of all those that she met. Her smile cooled the hottest of days. She blessed us with her open arms and willingness to act upon kindness and generosity. She lived her philosophy, “Live life to the fullest”. Each day was a blessing that allowed her to share love with someone in her life. She bestowed a legacy of integrity, truth, faith in neighbors and compassion. She will be dearly missed.
